He sold cell phones during his studies. The money earned invested in Jan Budde in his first company that offers nutritional supplements. But he also makes schnapps, organizes parties on the Elbe and still has a lot to do.
How do you become a successful entrepreneur? Jan Budde has his own explanation for this. "As a young man, I was thin like a herring," he recalls. Then his first girlfriend said to him: "You should build a little muscles". The council of favorite was the starting signal for an extremely successful entrepreneurial career, because from that moment on the drought Jan went to the gym five days a week to take weights and strengthen its muscles. Previously, he had tried a lot in terms of sport, played basketball, tennis, squash. But he finally got stuck in the gym. "I developed a real passion for training with the weights," he says.
At the same time, the former student in organic and chemistry, later the fishing science, dealt with nutritional supplements during his “fitness madness”. He found the topic exciting, on the other hand, the taste of the power bars and protein drinks "terrible". In this way, the decision to develop and produce athlete's food himself matured. There was a premise for Budde: his creations should not only give the body power, but also taste good. The step to the entrepreneur in terms of nutrition was not difficult for him. The affinity for raw materials and the development of chemical formulas had taught him to study. He began to familiarize himself intensively into the subject of nutritional supplements, searched for a suitable laboratory and experts with whom he could produce the first products.
That was the start of his company Body Attack. The brand is now 28 years old, employs around 130 people and is one of the leading German providers for fitness products. The more than 1200 products offered are sold in 23 shops in Germany and exported to 48 countries worldwide. The customer base includes not only clubs and gyms, but also professional and popular athletes. They also prefer to support the training with well -tasting and innovative nutritional supplements. "Our goal is to completely use fitness athletes from A to Z," says company founder Budde. He describes the recipe for success of his company as follows: “The competition makes good products, but we still put a little bit on it. Body Attack is what makes that. "
But Jan Budde not only develops formulas for new products, he also constantly brings ideas for other activities. By 2021, for example, he was owner of a Kiez pub, for several years he has been organizing Schlager boat parties on the Elbe and parties with great fun. His latest project is a schnapps called "Schietbüddel". Together with a good friend, the Ur-Hamburg team had decided to create an original Hamburger, with a taste that did not yet exist. The result is a fine rum liqueur with aromas of coconut, chocolate and vanilla. "I've always had a soft spot for schnapps," says Budde. So he gave the idea for the Schietbüddel tire. “I experimented for three quarters of a year. Now he is coming to the market. "
A matter of the heart is a different, unique project for the enthusiastic angler. It is called "racing heart" and also has to do with spirits. And with fan. "It is the liquid declaration of love for a favorite club," says Budde. "We bring the club's soul into the bottle." Sounds a bit crazy, but it works. With the help of a patented procedure, freshly mowed lawn chlorophyl is removed, which is refined with a self -developed gin, vodka or grain. The green color of the chlorophyl gives the Fandrink its unique appearance. "This gives everyone the opportunity to buy an exclusive bottle with the soul of their favorite club," explains Budde. Of course, it also works with lawns from golf or campsites or lawn of the city of Hamburg.
With “Heart racing for Hamburg”, Jan Budde and a partner born another new idea. Who knows, maybe there will be gin soon, vodka or grain with lawn from the city park kite, the Jenisch- or Heine-Park. The two have come up with something special for his hometown: they want to donate an amount for the tree planting or planting of new green areas in the Hanseatic city from every bottle sold. This is also a matter close to the heart.
The nature -loving Budde is also active on the North Sea coast. A handmade Dry Gin moved with the Nordic rosehip and source will soon come onto the market under the name "Watt'n Gin". From every bottle sold, one euro goes to the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea.
Let's see which project Jan Budde tackles next. He still has some ideas that he wants to realize.
