Body Attack Sports Nutrition is breaking new ground in sports sponsorship and has been supporting the Hamburg Golf Association as a nutritional partner since April 2013. “Golf is an exciting new sport for us. It allows us to reach a completely new target audience. Few people in golf are familiar with our brand, which makes us even more thrilled about this partnership with such a renowned and traditional association,” says CEO Jan Budde.
The Hamburg Golf Association (HGV), comprising 22 clubs with approximately 22,000 members, aims to enhance its players’ performance through the partnership with Body Attack. At the same time, the collaboration seeks to increase players’ awareness of nutrition. “Our golfers need to understand how to optimally fuel their bodies before and after training or competitions. So far, there is little experience in this area within golf,” explains HGV Managing Director Dominikus Schmidt.
Schmidt is delighted to have found a competent partner in Body Attack when it comes to nutrition: “In competition, concentration plays a critical role. A round of golf can last up to four and a half hours, so suitable drinks with minerals are essential to maintain focus and ensure consistency with every stroke until the end,” he adds.
Products like the Mineral Booster and the Milk Bar are among the selected nutritional supplements Body Attack provides to support the HGV’s first men’s team, helping them improve their performance. “Many golfers don’t realize how many minerals they lose during a round of golf. We aim to raise awareness that supplements are also important for golfers and that proper nutrition can significantly boost performance,” explains Budde.
Founded in 1966, the Hamburg Golf Association is committed to promoting both recreational and competitive golf, with a strong focus on youth development. School golf has also become an integral part of all HGV clubs. The association plans, coordinates, organizes, and conducts tournaments at the regional level, develops programs for coach and referee training, and represents its members’ sporting interests within the German Golf Association (DGV).
